Study Guide Test 8 2/16/19

Our objective in this problem is to find what the measure of angle A is. To find what angle a is, we have to set it equivalent to angle d. The equation that would represent this statement is 6y-2=5y+8. After performing all the functions necessary, y=6. Then, we plug 6 into 6y-2, and it becomes 6(6)-2. After multiplying 6 by 6, which is 36, and subtract it by 2, m<A is 34.
In problem #2, we have to find what the measure of angle G is. Angle G and angle E are equal to each other- 8x+1=11x+8. First, subtract 8 from 11 to get 3x, and add 1+8 to get 9. Then, the equation becomes 3x divided by 9 and x is 3. However, that is not what we’re solving for. Remember, we are solving for Angle G. Finally, we plug it into 8x+1 and plug 3 in for x. 8(3)+1= 25 is the measure of Angle G.
This problem is to find x if circle M, which one chord is 6x, is congruent to circle P, if its chord is 2x+24. First, we need to equal them to each other- 2x+24=6x. Then, combine like terms- 24=4x. Finally, divide 24 by 4 and x will equal 6.
